Biography
Dr Amanda McCubbin is an accomplished accreditation specialist and educator with extensive experience leading the quality assurance, professional accreditation and curriculum development of higher education courses across Australia. With a Doctor of Education and more than eighteen years of school teaching experience, including principal positions in rural and remote Western Australia, Amanda brings a deep understanding of teaching, learning and educational leadership to her university work.
Amanda has managed accreditation processes for a wide range of disciplines, including Initial Teacher Education, Engineering and Nursing. Her roles at Charles Darwin University, the University of Notre Dame and Federation University have seen her provide expert guidance on professional standards, course design, curriculum alignment, benchmarking and audit preparation. She has successfully supported multiple accreditation submissions, all of which achieved full-term approval.
As a strategic project manager, Amanda has developed evidence‑based quality assurance tools, led major course reviews, created curriculum mapping frameworks and facilitated industry consultation and student‑focused enhancements such as First Year Experience strategies. She works collaboratively with academics, professional staff and external stakeholders to strengthen course coherence and ensure compliance with AQF, HESF, CRICOS and professional accreditation requirements.
Alongside her accreditation leadership, Amanda supervises postgraduate research students and contributes actively to scholarship in curriculum, pedagogy, and teacher education.
