Biography

Alex Prins is an outdoor and physical education lecturer at Federation University Australia. He is dedicated to supporting students in developing strong foundational knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to successfully transition into professional practice and emerge as future leaders in the field of outdoor and physical education.

Alex has a strong scholarly and professional interest in outdoor learning experiences, pedagogy, and enskilment. His research focuses on the subjective dimensions of learning and teaching within local landscapes, with a particular emphasis on coastal environments. He is especially interested in how individuals develop deep, place-based understandings of and with local places.

Through exploring the lived pedagogical experiences of both learners and educators, Alex aims to generate meaningful insights that contribute to the enhancement of education programs and practices.
