Course covers systems, standards, tools, and techniques, including Maintenance management, Terotechnology and lifecycle costs analysis, Industrial techniques in maintenance management, Asset management techniques, machine conditioning and fault diagnosis, risk engineering, basic quantitative skills for reliability Engineering, advanced reliability, understanding reliability, reliability applications and maintenance and reliability engineering project for improving industrial profitability.

Tuition fee information
Commonwealth Supported Places are subsidised by the Australian Government. The tuition fee is called the student contribution amount. The indicative fee above is based on a typical first-year enrolment for this course and should be used as a guide only. For 0.5 EFTSL (60 credit point) courses the certificate fee is displayed. Your fee will depend on the units you chose, your study load, the time it takes to complete your course and any approved credit you receive.
How it's calculated
The government sets the fee each year. The amount depends on the discipline area and band of each unit. 2026 annual student contribution amounts for 1 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load) range from $4,738 (Band 1) to $17,399 (Band 4). You will also need to pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Fee assistance
If you're eligible for a HECS-HELP loan, you can defer the payment of all or part of your student contribution fee. If you’re also eligible for a SA-HELP loan, you can defer your SSAF payment too. You won’t have to start paying either loan back until your income reaches the compulsory repayment threshold.

Entry requirements (non year 12)
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Engineering degree with honours, or have completed the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Maintenance Management with an average result of 50%.
In certain circumstances, applicants with a Bachelor of Engineering pass degree or other appropriate degree together with honours-equivalent work experience may be admitted.
English language requirements
Undertaken within 24 months prior to your study commencement date and have achieved a minimum overall test score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0 for reading, listening, writing and speaking.

Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma of Engineering Maintenance Management can be used as a pathway into this course.
Credit for prior studies
Students may articulate with full credit for all units successfully completed from the Graduate Certificate in Reliability Engineering or the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Maintenance Management. Students may be eligible for credit from other previous postgraduate studies. A maximum of 25 percent of the program requirements for other postgraduate level studies not considered for any award may be credited. Credit or exemptions will not be granted for undergraduate qualifications. Credit is assessed on an individual basis.
Students entering the Masters program with a four year honours degree in engineering or with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience may be eligible for exemptions for a maximum of 60 credit points.
