Wimmera has a vocational training focus. There’s a hairdressing salon, a nursing training centre, construction workshops and a media production studio onsite – which means our TAFE students get to practise their skills in a realistic setting.
The campus is located in Horsham, a small regional city close to the Wimmera River, Grampians National Park and Mount Arapiles. And it's only a 15-minute walk from Federation to the CBD, where you'll find shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries.
Horsham is a two-hour drive from Ballarat and a 3.5-hour drive from Melbourne. The traditional custodians for this area are the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk peoples.
How to get to campus
If you drive to campus, you can park for free behind M Building and C Building or on Baillie Street.
If you're coming from Melbourne, jump on a V/Line train to Ararat. This service goes through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat and Beaufort. You'll then have to change to a coach that will take you to Horsham Train Station. The whole journey will take around four hours. You'll need a myki to travel on trains and coaches.
Wimmera Campus is easy to access by bicycle. The campus has undercover bike racks behind the C Building.
If you need to come straight to campus from the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, the quickest way is to drive. The trip will take a little over 3 hours.
