This course provides students with foundational knowledge of elements, principles, and materials of two-dimensional representation in the visual arts, such as is found in drawing, painting, print-making, photography, collage, and other. In exploring issues of visual design and perception the course provides insight into concepts such as the following: representation, space, dimension, volume, shape, line, colour, etc. Introduction to 2D Studio Art Practice is structured around thematic projects. Students will also develop critical and analytical thinking, while enriching their visual arts terminology.
