VAINT3006 INTERMEDIA STUDIO PRACTICE 6
This course constitutes advanced practical and contemporary theoretical studies and provides a context for students to conceive, plan and execute a major program of works, which takes into consideration intermedia art practice. The student's proposal should be refined in consultation with teaching staff and further refine their self-directed program of study. Factors to be considered to support a developing understanding of research and artistic endeavour when it is self directed will entail understanding of: A conceptual framework and the rationale that underpins it, Processes to be investigated and developed, Potential of cross disciplinary art practice, Contemporary and historical sources relevant to the proposed studies. Students are expected to develop and resolve a mature, professional, investigative body of artwork, with reference to their stated intentions. The process of using Art in a public arena or in a social context encourages a community understanding of art and art possibilities. Students will gain an appreciation of artwork in a community space. Students are encouraged to pursue this direction of study. Intermedia extends the application of oral and written communication, problem solving, analysis and critical evaluation and effective teamwork. The human figure will provide an ongoing focus of study in the life-drawing studio.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
