VACAP3001 Arts Internship

This unit provides the opportunity for students to pursue a placement or internship (Work Integrated Learning experience) with an arts organisation, school, local gallery or other community organisation as negotiated with the group/organisation and the Unit Coordinator. This unit takes advantage of the regional location of our campuses and the connections students may have with local groups and organisations. To undertake this unit, students must initiate the proposal, speak with the group concerned, and the Unit Coordinator, before submitting a summary and detailed plan for the internship. Full details of the planning process, required documentation and permissions to undertake this unit are provided in the unit description. The unit aims to provide students with a Work Integrated Learning experience through which the student will become familiar with the commitment required, and the requisite responsibilities, of an arts worker in the community more broadly.
