SOCOG2207 Going Global: Making Sense of Globalisation
This course develops an understanding of globalisation from a global political economy perspective. It introduces the main theories in global political economy, the development of international relations in the context of globalisation as well as international economic institutions that have accompanied the globalization process. It examines the impact of globalisation on nation-states utilising case studies of Australia and selected countries or regions in Asia and Europe. It also explores relationships between globalisation, human rights, democracy and the impact of globalisation on environment.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
