SHMCN6012 Nursing Practice 5: Consolidation of Practice 2
This course, along with SHMCN6011, will enable students to consolidate their learning from across the Master of Clinical Nursing (Graduate Entry) program by way of more specialised knowledge and skills development, and extended periods of clinical practice in diverse clinical settings. This may comprise a consolidated placement in one health care organisation for both courses. SHMCN6012 provides an opportunity for students to further achieve and consolidate the NMBA Registered Nurse Practice Standards (2016) and, in so doing, develop the confidence and competence of final semester students in making the transition from student to Registered Nurse. In consultation with the relevant Course Coordinator and/or Clinical Coordinator, students will be provided with an opportunity to identify their own learning needs in relation to the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice (2016) and to seek opportunities to address learning needs within a clinical setting identified as a developing interest. Students in this course will explore the globalisation of nursing and critically evaluate the way that the Registered Nurse Standards for Practice (2016) provide a clinical reasoning cycle framework for the provision of evidence-informed, safe, high quality, person-centred care across diverse nursing practice settings.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.
The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).
2025 student contribution amount: $578
2025 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $578
* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
