PSYCM7126 Clinical Health Psychology
This unit extends students¿ knowledge and skills in clinical psychology principles and techniques to the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of illness. Students will develop knowledge and skills in assessment, formulation and intervention in health settings, psychological strategies to improve treatment adherence, and preparation for medical procedures. This unit will take a lifespan developmental approach and examine the role of clinical psychologists in supporting clients experiencing chronic, acute and psychosomatic health conditions in childhood and adolescence, adulthood and aging.
