PAMTP3001 MUSIC THEATRE PERFORMANCE SKILLS 1

"This course builds on skills and techniques learnt in second year. Vocal repertoire will be taught in individual vocal coaching sessions. Performance practice skills will be taught in a large group. Individual vocal coaching will continue to develop each student¿s vocal growth and extension and develop individual artistry. This course will continue to build on the student¿s personal portfolio of learned repertoire. Emphasis will be placed on students sourcing their own repertoire within the framework of a given criteria that shows evidence of an honest understanding of their own vocal qualities and abilities. Through this process they will start considering repertoire that might be suitable for their audition portfolio required for the professional industry. As part of this course, students will devise a short (10 minute) cabaret performance to be publically presented in Ballarat and Melbourne. Students will participate in workshop and tutorial learning with the Director and Accompanist/MD and to develop ideas and a structure for their cabaret style, and then selecting appropriate songs. Students will write their own `patter¿ (script). All repertoire for the project will be selected by the students and approved by the supervisors. Students will collaborate to technically manage the performance season, including but not restricted to; production and stage management, stage and costume design, lighting, sound, programme and catering. Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee

A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.

The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).

2025 student contribution amount: $1,164

2025 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $997

* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.

Clinical Psychology & Professional Pathways

For Clinical Psychology & Professional Pathways bands, the student contribution amount is determined by the accredited course. Visit our CSP page for further information, including a list of accredited courses. Students not studying in an accredited course will pay the fees listed above.
