NURBN3105 Research in Nursing Practice and Quality Improvement

This unit will explore the intersection of their practical nursing experiences and current research, enhancing their ability to critically analyse and apply research evidence in clinical settings. Students will focus on evaluating clinical practices, interpreting research findings, and incorporating ethical and professional standards into patient care. Students will explore the principles of research design and examine how evidence informs practice in diverse healthcare settings. The unit aligns with the Registered Nurse Standards for Practice and incorporates key regulatory frameworks, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, and National Health Priority Areas. By the end of the unit, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently use evidence to support clinical decision-making to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practice. The unit also reinforces the NMBA Code of Conduct, ICN Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Nursing and Midwifery Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework to support culturally safe and accountable practice.
