NURBN3002 Primary and Community Healthcare in Context
This course will focus on the role of the nurse as a community educator to optimise empowerment, self-determination and ownership of communities dealing with health care issues. The Primary Health Care nursing approach integrates the key philosophies of primary health care, that relate to equity, social justice, community development, community participation, health promotion, health education and cultural sensitivity. The course will explore the notion of the nurse as a change agent - not only for individuals but for groups, communities and populations.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
