NURBN2104 Person Centered Nursing Practice A
This unit builds on prior learning to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills in caring for individuals with acute and chronic conditions affecting respiratory, cardiac, endocrine, neurological, and musculoskeletal systems. Students will apply critical thinking and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based, person-centred nursing care. Emphasis is placed on using pathophysiological and pharmacological knowledge to inform safe, timely, and strengths-based care decisions. Through clinical laboratory sessions and 120 hours of supervised clinical placement, students will consolidate their skills in recognising early signs of deterioration, interpreting clinical indicators, and responding with appropriate nursing interventions. The unit also supports the development of accurate, professional communication and documentation skills, including the use of digital platforms, to enhance safety and support collaborative, interprofessional care.
