NURBN1111 Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing and Midwifery 1
This unit is one of two units that provide foundational knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, with a focus on the biological principles that underpin health and normal body function. Students will examine the organisation of the human body from chemical, cellular, and tissue levels through to major organ systems, exploring how physiological processes are integrated and regulated to maintain homeostasis. An integrated, whole-body approach supports students in understanding structural and functional changes across the lifespan. Key topics include the musculoskeletal, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, digestive systems and nutrition and metabolism. Through applied learning, students will begin to connect biological science knowledge with nursing and midwifery practice.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
2026 contribution amount* $1,192
