NURBN1104 Introduction to Person-Centered Nursing Practice
This unit introduces students to the foundational concepts of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and clinical judgment essential for safe and effective nursing practice. Students will learn to conduct comprehensive patient assessments, utilise evidence-based frameworks, and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Emphasis is placed on professional behaviours, person-centred care, strength-based nursing and the importance of reflective practice and self-care strategies for personal and professional growth. The unit also supports the development of accurate, professional communication and documentation skills, including the use of digital platforms, to enhance safety and support collaborative, interprofessional care.
