NHPOT2015 Physical and Cognitive-neurological Determinants of Occupation

This unit will provide students with a thorough understanding of the physical and cognitive-neurological factors of human performance and how they influence engagement in occupation. The role of occupational therapists in empowering engagement in occupation through addressing physical and cognitive-neurological factors will be the focus of this unit through assessment and enabling strategies. The unit will further establish the practical application of anatomy and physiology, and lifespan development content taught in Year 1. The purpose of this unit is for students to develop professional skills and competencies in assessment, measurement, intervention planning and implementation of enabling strategies to address physical and cognitive-neurological factors that impact on engagement in occupation.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.

Domestic full fee–paying places

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. These places are offered to postgraduate students or those who are ineligible for a CSP.
