MIDBM3001 Advancing midwifery practice
This unit provides students with the knowledge to assist with advancing their midwifery practice in the clinical setting. The focus of this unit will explore the skills and attributes required for leadership in midwifery practice and maternity care settings, in order to provide effective delivery of women-centred care during the childbearing continuum. It will also examine the important role of the midwife in the context of global health targets and strategies, to improve birth outcomes for women and their newborns. Students will investigate innovative ways to work in collaboration with women, families, and the multidisciplinary team, including how digital literacy enables midwives to attain skills and knowledge for the use of technology and devices in contemporary health care settings.
