LITCR2103 Writing for Children and Young Adults
This course will give students the opportunity to develop further as a creative writer with a specific focus on children¿s literature and educational writing for particular age cohorts. Students in this course will be actively engaged in exploring opportunities in a range of `children and young adult writing¿ (CYA) industry settings. This will include workshops with practising writers, editors and publishers in this field, involvement in industry and community literary events such as festivals and public readings, and participating in K-12 school-based activities. Students will also be supported to develop a `pitch¿ to a potential publisher as part of their writing output for the semester.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
