INDSL1004 VICTORIAN ABORIGINAL HISTORY
This introductory course will describe and define the contacts between Victorian Aboriginal societies with representatives of outside cultures during the nineteenth century. It will define and analyse the negative and positive aspects of government policies toward Victorian Aboriginals during the nineteenth century and critically evaluate the actions and motives of individual Victorian Aboriginals in Aboriginal/non-Aboriginal relations. This course will enable students to examine and critically analyse the scale and nature of frontier contact in Victoria and evaluate the differing attitudes of historians and politicians to Australia¿s frontier history, with specific reference to Victorian Aboriginal history.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
