HEMTL6002 Mental Health Nursing Practice 2

This is the second mental health nursing practice unit that provides an opportunity for students to continue to examine mental health practice from the perspective of a strengths-based framework. This will also provide an opportunity to interrogate mental health practice through nursing assessments, therapeutic interactions with consumers and the multidisciplinary team, and planning, implementing and evaluating safe and collaborative nursing interventions including psychoeducation. This unit will also facilitate a deeper engagement with contemporary debates and ethical considerations in mental health practice including the use of psychotherapeutic and other interventions within the recovery-orientated practice model. This unit enhances the knowledge about various mental health assessments and management for health practitioners working in mental health settings.
