HEASP3043 Speech Pathology Clinical Practice 4
This is the fourth of six professional practice units in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Hons) that contextualises and provides direct evidence of competencies required by Speech Pathology Australia for entry into the profession. This unit provides students with the opportunity to contextualise, consolidate, assimilate and transfer previous learning in professional practice experience across the practice areas of communication and swallowing. In this unit students develop at least intermediate level competency in speech pathology practice during placement as well as during supplementary activities and tasks. Counselling and interviewing skills will be consolidated to equip students for active and sensitive engagement with all stakeholders. Students will continue to build their professional portfolio as a basis for ongoing reflection and demonstration of evidence against the Professional Standards for Speech Pathologists and will progress their reflective skills to further transform their clinical identity and professional practice. Students will participate in supervised practice education based placement at an intermediate level competency for approximately and not less than 15 days, with flexible support from the university.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.
The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).
2025 student contribution amount: $1,164
2025 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $1,164
* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
