GPHSC1402 Health Practice 2: Health assessment and management
This unit provides students with an understanding of fundamental health assessments for person-centred, holistic care using a lifespan approach. This unit utilises the concepts of health, wellness and evidence-based professional health practice introduced in previous units. It provides students with enhanced knowledge and skills for the provision of safe and effective consumer-led person-centered health care of individuals in simulated and authentic clinical situations to enable students to extend their range of activities in caring for people across the lifespan with physical and mental health care and health needs in contemporary clinical settings. This unit will incorporate additional learning hours to support the development of students¿ academic and study skills The unit encompasses health concepts and inquiry to help students move from the development of simple to more complex health practice in areas such as assessment, nutrition management, and skin care and elimination management. In line with the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards of Practice (2016), National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards (2017), and encompassing health activities, self-management and reflective practice will be encouraged.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
