ENGPG9311 Industrial Automation and IoT
This unit provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of Industrial Automation and the Internet of Things (IoT), with a focus on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial sensors, actuators, and smart IoT devices. Students will gain hands-on experience in the design, programming, installation, and maintenance of automation systems used in modern industrial environments. The unit emphasises practical application, system integration, and the use of real-time data for monitoring and control, equipping students with the essential skills required to implement and manage intelligent, connected industrial systems.
