EDMAS6102 Learning and Teaching 2
This course is divided into two modules designed to focus on literacy learning and feedback and assessment; two key areas that are linked to successful learning. The first module builds deep understandings of literacy processes particularly reading and writing. A focus on multi-literacies allows pre-service students to understand the impact of new technologies on literacy learning and to develop teaching approaches which use technology as an important tool for thinking and learning. The second module examines the role that feedback plays in learning so that beginning teachers are well equipped to give effective feedback in formal and informal learning contexts. Principles and practices related to assessment are critically examined and the important role assessment plays as, of and for learning is linked to effective teaching approaches.
