EDMAS6014 Mathematics Curriculum 1
This unit develops an understanding of the nature and place of Mathematics as a "critical filter for further education and training". The content of Mathematics as a subject area will be explored, alongside the techniques of teaching and learning Mathematics at the secondary level. Learning Mathematics in years 7-10 and the VCE will examined using current policy documents as the basis. Students will be required to critically examine current and past practices in learning and teaching Mathematics with reference to curriculum documents as well as articles and papers written within the Mathematics education community. A particular focus will be on the use of technology in the learning of Mathematics.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
