EDMAS6013 Languages other than English 1
This unit is designed to enable pre-service teachers to become skilled and knowledgeable LOTE teachers who will promote and advocate for LOTE in the secondary school context. The aim is to develop sound understandings of the pedagogy for teaching languages particularly in the middle years of schooling. The course builds the capacity to plan effective learning experiences in LOTE and use a range of assessment approaches so that learning is enhanced. The unit builds understandings of contemporary research findings in relation to language acquisition as well as understandings of key educational theories.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
