EDFGC5811 Teacher Research Project B
This course builds on work undertaken in the companion course Teacher Researcher Project A. Pre-service teachers will use the research proposal submitted previously as a basis for conducting ethical research and submitting the results in a form appropriate to their chosen methodology. Interested students may be able to undertake more substantial research, equivalent to an Honours degree. In this course pre-service teachers will: review common methodologies used in education in relation to on-going learning; review and refine proposed research using academic literature related to research design; provide further details regarding methods, recruitment and selection of research sites and participants as appropriate; complete an ethics application; collect and/or reflect on data; analyse data using an appropriate theoretical framework; become a critical friend; present, engage with and reflect on research; write up research; and understand how research makes them a better teacher.
