EDBED3032 History Curriculum 1

This unit is designed to introduce pre-service teachers to the History 7-10 Secondary curriculum and prepares them to use curriculum frameworks to design teaching sequences and e¿ective teaching and learning approaches. It includes a focus on the pedagogical approaches used to plan, teach and assess in History. Pre- service teachers will learn about historical concepts and the nature of historical inquiry and ways to assess student learning in History. Pre-service teachers will re¿ect on their developing philosophy and identity as teachers of History and the dispositions required for e¿ective teaching and will also examine issues related to the teaching of History.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

* For Psychology and Social Work bands the unit fee amount is determined by accredited courses. Students in Postgraduate Clinical Psychology, Professional Pathway Psychology or Professional Pathway Social Work accredited courses should refer to the information below.

Domestic full fee–paying places

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. These places are offered to postgraduate students or those who are ineligible for a CSP.
