EAAPP5001 English for Academic Purposes (Upper Intermediate) 5A
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP5A) program is tailored for the needs of international students wishing to succeed in academic study in Australia. EAP5A is the first five-weeks of a ten-week course of study of the intermediate level of the English for Academic Purposes Level 4 course. Students who successfully complete the course will be able to move to the next five- week level (EAP5B) study of the EAP5 course in preparation for tertiary study at Federation University. Students receive a progress report upon completion of each five-week course. This course¿aims to develop the intermediate reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, computer and study skills required for further study at Federation University, for diplomas, undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It focuses on building students' confidence in the fundamental language skills in an academic context with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and academic literacy skills.
Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.
The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).

2025 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $578
* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
