EAAPP3301 English for Academic Purposes (Lower intermediate) 3A
EAP3A is the first five-weeks of a ten-week course of study of the lower-Intermediate level of the English for Academic Purposes Level 3 course. The aim of this course is to develop and improve students¿ communicative competence in English language, academic literacy and tertiary study skills. Students who successfully complete the course will be able to move to the next five-week level (EAP3B) study of the EAP3 course in preparation for tertiary study at Federation University. Students receive a progress report upon completion of each five-week course. This course¿aims to develop the lower-intermediate reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, computer and study skills required for further study at Federation University, for diplomas, undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It focuses on building students' confidence in the fundamental language skills in an academic context with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and academic literacy skills.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
