CAXDC3000 Forum 5: Connecting with the Contemporary
This course focuses on emerging themes and issues central to contemporary visual culture, design and performance in Australia and internationally. While the emphasis will be on recent works and events, connections will be made to earlier epochs and seminal works as appropriate. Themes and issues addressed in this course may include: Nature, Identity, Body, Spirit, Politics, (de) Colonialism, Activism and Gender. Students are expected to visit galleries and events and attend talks, presentations and performances by artists, designers and performance makers.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
