BUTSM5903 Future Visitor Segments
The aim of this course is to assist tourism practitioners advance their understanding of trends likely to impact upon tourism in the future. This course examines the mega drivers affecting tourism, with a focus on looking forward over the next 10-20 years. Consideration is offered for some of the growing tourism segments such as the retail tourist, health tourist, grand traveller, second-home tourist and adventure tourist as well as the growth in the singleton tourist. With a focus on practical application, the course provides a platform for understanding how to develop strategies to meet the needs of these new segments.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
