BUTSM1502 INTERNATIONAL TOURISM
The aim of this course is to examine the factors responsible for competitiveness of international tourism destinations. Important elements such as cross-cultural awareness and communication in the development of international tourism and the subsequent role of global destination marketing are examined. In addition, the course aims to develop an appreciation in students of different cultures and how cross-cultural communication influences and enriches the tourism experience in addition to the political and economic impacts of international tourism. The course examines international tourism trends from the perspective of the major generating and destination regions.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
