The unit aims to support students to develop a comprehensive understanding of cultural, social, and political developments that have shaped global Indigenous communities, including times throughout history to the present day. Students will learn about various world indigenous communities and the impact colonisation had upon the various communities. Students will develop an understanding of the world's Indigenous peoples capacity for resilience in the face of adversity, how Indigenous communities across the globe have maintained identity, and fought for self-determination.
