ACAPV1002 Applied Creative Arts Performance Voice 2 (Use of Text)
Performance Voice 2 (Use of Text) course builds on the foundation of practice developed in Performance Voice 1 (Use of Self). Students continue to explore the notion of body/voice in relation to a variety of texts through a series of exercises designed to liberate the actor from the restrictive habits and tensions that prevent freedom of expression. This core discipline will continue to develop the exploration of use of self and use of text in performance through the continued study of psychophysical awareness. Students will continue to work from a place of neutrality, build and refine skills in and awareness of an authentic body/voice connection, a theoretical and practical grasp of voice and speech, a critical understanding of language and text, and an integration of self into performance.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
