ACAPP1002 Applied Creative Arts Performance Practice 2
Performance Practice: Building on foundational skills begun in Semester 1, students will learn a variety of strategies for the actor¿s approach to working with written texts, beginning with a fundamental grounding in text analysis: how a text may be examined for relevant information; how this information can be ordered and translated into rehearsal and performance-making strategies, and how it may be used in performance for a range of audiences. Students may apply concepts such as: given circumstance, action\objective, character and situation to dramatic texts within the studio. Students will be expected to develop personal rehearsal strategies, to create from authentic connection, to increase awareness of personal performance habits, and to investigate improvisation as a practical rehearsal tool. Scene-work will be undertaken in class and may be the subject of studio presentation.
