We invite applications for a fully funded PhD project investigating the cardiovascular, physical, and psychological comorbidities associated with behavioural addiction disorders, including Gambling Disorder and Internet Gaming Disorder. This interdisciplinary research will explore how addictive behaviours interact with mental health conditions such as Depression and Anxiety Disorders, alongside physiological processes including stress-system dysregulation of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis. Using a longitudinal, multimodal approach, the project will integrate psychological assessments, behavioural data, and cardiovascular and metabolic health measures to better understand risk pathways and inform holistic prevention and treatment strategies. The successful candidate will join a dynamic international, cross-disciplinary research environment and gain training in advanced statistical modelling, clinical assessment, and psychophysiological research methods.
