About Moorabool Wind Farm
Moorabool Wind Farm consists of 104 wind turbines located approximately 27km south east of Ballarat. Since 2022, the Wind Farm produces up to 312 MW, approximately 1,050,000 MWh of electricity annually. This is enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 221,500 average Victorian homes every year, representing approximately 10% of Victorian homes.
The project is divided into two sections, North and South, with 50 wind turbines in the Northern Section and 54 turbines in the Southern Section. All turbines are 169m to the tip of the blade. The project is operated and maintained by Goldwind Australia, with a team of about 20 permanent local staff undertaking site management, operation, and maintenance work.
