About David
The David Ebbs Memorial Scholarship has been established to honour the life and enduring legacy of Dr David Ebbs. David was a cherished member of the Ballarat community, whose dedication and passion left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
David was a former PhD student, accomplished researcher, and engaging lecturer at Federation University. He was a popular and respected colleague who made an immeasurable contribution.
Beyond his academic achievements, David was deeply committed to the local community. He served as Vice President of the Ballarat Tennis Association for several years, was a long-serving volunteer with the Hardies Hill CFA brigade, and an active member of the Garibaldi Landcare group.
David's passing in 2020 was a profound loss to both the university and the wider Ballarat community. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit continues to inspire those who had the privilege of working with him.
This scholarship has been established to honour David’s commitment to education and scientific inquiry in the broad areas of engineering, water, and environmental sustainability.
