Appeal a final Federation decision to an external agency
If you receive a final decision from Federation but don't agree with it, you can submit a complaint to an external agency.
If you've reached the end of the university’s internal appeals or complaints process and you're still not happy with the outcome, you may be able to take your case to an independent external agency.
You can only appeal externally (make a complaint) if you've received a final decision from the university. This means you've been informed that the matter is considered closed and cannot be taken further.

External agencies
If you think you’ve been treated unfairly by Federation University, you can contact the Victorian Ombudsman. You'll need to explain what your complaint is about and attach supporting documents.
The National Student Ombudsman deals with complaints specifically about higher education providers. You can describe your situation via their online form, over the phone in writing or in person.
The Australian Human Rights Commission can investigate complaints of discrimination and breaches of human rights. The service is free and the process is easy to understand.
