Apply for an assessment extension
Need an extension for one or more assessment tasks? Find out if you should apply for a discretionary extension or special consideration (and how to do it).
There are two kinds of assessment extensions. If you need a bit longer (up to five working days) to finish a single task, you should apply for a discretionary extension. If you need extensions for multiple tasks, or an extension longer than five days, you should apply for special consideration. If you're a TAFE student, start by speaking to your course coordinator.

Using fake documents
But it's important to be honest when you apply. Submitting fake or edited documents, like medical certificates, can have serious consequences – you could be excluded from studying at Federation for up to 10 years.
When not to apply for an assessment extension
If you have ongoing medical conditions or disabilities, you should contact Accessibility Services to discuss a Learning Access Plan (LAP), which will include any reasonable adjustments you need throughout your course.
If your application is rejected
You can lodge an appeal within 30 days of the receiving the outcome notification. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Student Appeals Committee via their online portal. Not sure how to do this? Student Advocacy can give you independent advice and guide you through the process.
