  • Pre-flight planning: Help with booking flights, arranging accommodation, organising transport, and exchanging currency.
  • Visa and documents: Guidance on visa applications, important documents, and travel checklists.
  • Customs and luggage: What to expect at customs and tips for managing luggage and biosecurity rules.

Settling in

  • SIM cards and banking: How to get a SIM card and open a bank account with major Australian banks.
  • Getting around: Public transport info, including Myki cards for Melbourne and regional bus services.

Orientation & university life

Enrolment Specific Sessions

Our enrolment specific sessions are designed to help you understand how to enrol at Federation. They’re great for early planning and can help you avoid delays so you’re ready for when you arrive on campus. They’re especially useful if you’re still overseas. 

You don’t need your visa finalised to join.

You’ll learn about:

  • Where to get support

It’s helpful to bring your student ID (if you have one) or application number and any questions you have.

Hint: You can also attend an in-person enrolment session on campus during Orientation. These are great for last-minute questions and ideal if you're already in Australia.
