Join the Library

Find out how to join the Library and what members can access.

The Library is open to everyone – current Federation students, staff members and alumni, students and staff from other institutions and the local community. You don’t need a membership to use our spaces or facilities, but joining will mean you can borrow items from some of our collections. (Although if you're not at Federation, you won't have access to electronic resources or textbooks.)

Who can join the Library?

If you currently work or study at Federation (or one of our partner institutions), you're already a member of the Library. Use your University ID card to borrow items.
Staff and students from other Australian institutions
You can join the Library if your unviersity or TAFE is part of a reciprocal borrowing scheme.
Federation alumni
Federation graduates who are alumni members can join the Library to borrow books and access selected e-resources.
Members of the public
Anyone can join the Library to access and borrow items from our print collection.
