Borrow from other academic libraries
Reciprocal programs allow Federation students and staff to borrow from other academic libraries when you visit. These include:
- All Victorian university libraries through the CAVAL reciprocal borrowing program
- TAFE libraries through the TAFE Libraries National Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme (TAFE NRBS)
- libraries across Australia and New Zealand through the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ).
To register, show your Federation University staff or student ID card and proof of current enrolment or employment at any participating library.
Request items we don't have
If you can’t find what you need in our collection or by visiting another academic library, we can help locate and source books, articles and other resources from academic libraries across Australia and overseas. Federation staff, PhD and Masters students can make unlimited requests, and Honours, graduate diploma or graduate certificate students can make up to 12 requests per year.
To submit a request:
- log in to your MyLibrary account using your student or staff number and password and click 'New request' under Research Sharing Services
- search Library QuickSearch and click 'No full-text' on the required resource. Request the resource via 'Direct form'
Suggest an item for purchase
If you teach at Federation, you can suggest books, journals, databases and other materials that support the University's teaching, learning and research activities by emailing acquisitions@federation.edu.au. We prefer to order digital resources if possible so we can provide 24/7 access on and off campus to multiple simultaneous users and integrate resources into online course platforms.
