About Harmeet
Harmeet Kaur is the student-elected representative to the University Council at Federation University.
She is currently undertaking a PhD in Business, exploring social capital, volunteering, and community engagement, with a focus on translating research into practical strategies for policy and program development. She also holds a Master of Business Analytics (Applied Research) and a Master of Science in Statistics, equipping her with strong analytical and research expertise.
Actively involved in university life, Harmeet represents postgraduate students as the Wellbeing Representative for the Federation Postgraduate Students Club (FPSC) and is the founder and former President of the Deakin Sikh Society, where she led initiatives to promote inclusion, cultural awareness, and peer support.
She has also been recognised with the Emerging Mentor Award for her guidance and support of fellow students at Deakin Business School.
Harmeet has professional experience as a research assistant, technical assistant, statistical analyst intern, and volunteer mentor. Her interests include higher education governance, student engagement, diversity and inclusion, and community-focused research.
