Students converge on campus for Summer Splendour Festival

Live music, food trucks, games and information stalls will highlight the beginning of semester as more than 3000 new students transition to university life across Federation University Australia’s campuses. This week’s Summer Splendour Festival will bring new and returning students together to connect with friends, explore campus life and gain information about student clubs, support services and academic resources. It follows orientation last week where new students got a taste of university through campus tours and course overviews, along with the FedReady short course program, which helps students develop the academic skills they need to get started at university, like assignment writing, referencing and managing study load. Summer Splendour will give students the opportunity to relax with peers, engage in some friendly competition with board games and trivia challenges and refuel at a range of popup food stalls. So far, more than 3000 new students will begin their studies across the University’s campuses including online and international students, while more than 4200 students are continuing their studies at Federation. Federation’s most popular courses for semester one are the Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Social Work (Qualifying) and Bachelor of Information Technology. Scholarship opportunities for 2025 are shaping up to be the University’s largest ever, with 286 scholarships, worth more than $980,000 available to students, giving them the opportunity to succeed in their studies without the stress of financial pressure. |
