Federation TAFE named finalist in 2025 Victorian Training Awards
Federation TAFE has been recognised for its excellence in vocational education and training, announced as a finalist in the Large Training Provider of the Year category in the 2025 Victorian Training Awards.
The awards honour the outstanding achievements of organisations, students, apprentices, trainees and teachers who contribute to Victoria's TAFE and training sector, with the Large Training Provider of the Year category recognising outstanding performance across all aspects of training delivery.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and collective impact of Federation TAFE’s work across our community and it’s an honour to be shortlisted in such a competitive field,” Federation TAFE Chief Executive and Pro Vice-Chancellor, VET and Pathways, Darren Gray said.
“We are putting students at the centre of everything we do, providing them with meaningful qualifications that are aligned to industry needs and getting them into jobs sooner through our co-operative education model.”
Through a period of transformation, Federation TAFE has increased access to education, attracting more regional, rural and remote students to Vocational Education and Training (VET) and growing enrolments in priority sectors including healthcare, community services, construction, clean economy, digital economy, agriculture and advanced manufacturing.
“We are proud to be acknowledged for our work in serving not just regional areas, but the rural and remote communities of Western Victoria where we’ve been able to increase our reach and impact.”
The Victorian Training Awards have also acknowledged Certificate III Baking student Stavriana Taliadoros as a finalist in the School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year.
The nominations follow a series of honours for Federation TAFE in recent years, with Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) student Barbara Muller named Vocational Student of the Year and People’s Choice winner in the 2023 Victorian Training Awards; and Information Technology teacher Dr Adam Bignold taking out the Teacher/Trainer of the Year in 2024 and going on to be crowned Australia’s best vocational education and training teacher at the Australian Training Awards.
This year’s winners will be announced on Friday, 19 September. To view the full list of finalists, visit www.vic.gov.au/2025-victorian-training-awards-finalists.
