This result recognises Federation’s Co-operative Education Model – a bold, partnership-driven approach that embeds industry collaboration into every aspect of learning, teaching, and research to deliver real-world outcomes for students, employers and communities. - 39th globally for SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
Reducing inequalities and increasing access to education for regional communities are at the heart of Federation University. The University’s commitment to equity is evident in its #1 ranking in Australia for first-generation students. - 45th globally for SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing
Federation’s leadership in health education and research is reflected in its strong graduate outcomes and partnerships with health services. Its allied health clinics and research in behavioural change are helping to upskill regional healthcare workers and tackle chronic disease.
Federation’s work in advancing the goals, in partnership with our students, staff, industry, government and communities – is outlined in the 2023 Sustainability Impact Report.
Federation University Acting Vice-Chancellor Samantha Bartlett said the University was proud to be recognised for its significant contribution to environmental, social, and economic sustainability, both at a local and global level.
“We know that education transforms lives, and by reaching students who might otherwise be left behind, we foster intergenerational change that uplifts families, communities, and entire regions,” Acting Vice-Chancellor, Samantha Bartlett said.
“We’re proud to enrol the highest proportion of first-in-family students in the country and to partner with government and industry to design courses that respond to real workforce needs, delivering graduates who are job-ready, skilled, and in-demand where they’re needed most.
“Our Co-operative education model promotes decent work and economic growth by allowing students to earn while they study and providing a pipeline of skilled graduates to address critical skills shortages in regional areas.”
